There are only three knots that you really need to know. The strongest, simplest knot is the Palomar knot which should be used whenever possible for terminal tackle.  For large lures with treble hooks it is convenient to use the  Trilene knot because you don’t have to loop over the lure.  For tandem rigs, the Dropper loop is a handy knot to know.
